Lagos,(AFP) – Dozens of people who rushed to scoop up fuel after a petrol tanker tipped over were “caught in the blaze” when the vehicle caught fire, Mmilitary and Police spokesmen said on Thursday.

“People rushed there to scoop for fuel and there was a fire which consumed a lot of people,” said police spokesman Ben Ugwuegbulem, of the southern Rivers state, while military spokesman Onyema Mwachukwu said dozens “were caught in the blaze.”
